Lake Elementaita is a soda lake, found in Nakuru County along Nairobi-Nakuru highway, about 40 km from Nakuru Town and about 120km towards Northwest of Nairobi town Kenya. The Lake is on the eastern part of the famous Great Rift Valley. Two third of the shoreline is covered by Soysambu Conservancy
The lake is known for its attractions site for Aardvark (nocturnal), Flamingos (both lesser and greater varieties), Great crested Grebe, Great white pelicans and the conservancy has large population of the Rothschild giraffe.
